My name is Alyssa, welcome to my site! I have been self-teaching myself programming for over eight years. I have worked in the IT industry as a jack-of-all-trades for the last 8 years doing: WordPress blogs, managing both Windows and Linux servers, programming, virtual assistant tasks, PBX telephony work, data scraping jobs, and much, much more.
I began attempting to program “user layouts” at 11 years old on Neopets. Two years later I had developed my own first rough online game written in PHP and MySQL, thanks to my father teaching me coding (but mostly how to Google and follow tutorials!) A couple web games later at 19 years old I created a large online dog simulation website that was very successful despite still learning better programming techniques and methods afterwards. I am currently developing an Android application.
I wanted to create a blog to have a place to document all the strange happenings in the computer world I come across. From bug fixes to common misconceptions about existing documentation and even shortcuts to speed up your server work, I hope to help other programmers avoid those problems that can take hours to solve for a very simple problem. I also have my portfolio so you can take a look at some of the work I’ve done, and contact me if you’re interested in having me work for you!
